About Lisa Donoughe

As founder and president of LAD communications, Ms. Donoughe brings fifteen years of public relations and marketing experience to her clients. Prior to starting her own agency, Ms. Donoughe held various agency and corporate positions in New York City. Most recently, she served as vice president of Kratz & Company where she ran the food and beverage group. As employee number six, she helped grow Kratz into a company of 200 employees with offices in San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York.

Lisa specializes in helping entrepreneurs shape and tell their stories. In her diverse international career, she has developed campaigns to launch brands, grow businesses and organizations, and promote leaders in a way that drives growth and brand longevity. With all of her media relations campaigns, the goal is to develop strategic, creative original campaigns that deliver maximum return on investment.

Past successes include:

The New Organics Company strategic partnership with Paramount Pictures: LAD comm handled national product launch and roll out of Richard Scarry children's supermarket organic line.

Terra Chips: three year media relations campaign led to feature stories in Fortune, Food & Wine, Cosmpolitan Magazine, etc. and a successful sale to the Hain Group.

Urban Wineworks: LAD comm developed the positioning and brand messaging and continues to act as an external marketing team for this innovative successful new business in NW Portland.

International clients have included commodity boards for venison in New Zealand and Port Wine in Portugal. She has led brand initiatives for wine and spirits producers including Seagram, Campari, Bacardi, Austin-Nichols, and Orangina.

Donoughe believes that the key to a successful PR campaign is to make it a valid process. "I provide a service to journalists, giving story ideas based in editorial reality, not self-promotion."

Donoughe has created a network of senior level professionals who are pulled into projects as needed. In addition, she has a small, dynamic team of former journalists and recent college grads who bring enthusiasm and talent to LAD comm.

For national chains and public companies such as Boston Market and Il Fornaio, Lisa has conceived of and executed cause-related and media relations programs. She has a strong consumer technology background, representing Citysearch.com in New York City and doing on-line marketing for StoliCentral.com.

In addition to her agency experience, she has held the corporate position of Manager of Public Relations for Pernod Ricard, Europe's largest wine and spirits company.

Ms. Donoughe graduated with honors from Barnard College, Columbia University, where she studied cultural anthropology with a specialization in contemporary American media and its role within our culture. Ms. Donoughe has been a contributor to Town & Country Magazine, loves to cook, knit and be outside whenever possible.
